Party members also protested against the electricity price hike, water crisis, women security and corruption.
Speaking during the protest, CPI's General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy said that even as the Modi government is planning to issue a credit paper of hundred days of the government, there has been a hike in railway fares, freight rates along with hike in the prices of all essential commodities.
"All policies of BJP government are the same as of Congress, that is in favour of crony capitalism," Reddy said.
"Full ration is not provided and electricity subsidy is a farce. Even health, education and all public services are not adequate," Raja said.
CPI demands compulsory pension of Rs 3000 for all eligible contenders along with ration card for all, he said.
