Twenty seven year old Abhishek Bhatia, also the vocalist of alternative and experimental rock band "The Circus" recently released his first EP (extended play) and also wrapped up a multi city India tour for its launch.
He is slated to travel to the UK as part of his promotion tour which includes a performance at the Great Escape Music Festival in Brighton, England starting on May 14.
Bhatia has spent the last six years performing for both indulgent and indifferent audiences across the country collaborating with various artist across genres.
The EP Drones is a set of four tracks with singles like, "Sentinels," "My Obscurity" and "In Dreams" featuring Kavya Trehan. The sounds deviates from a mid-tempo groove, infused with layers of vocal effects, shimmering synths and dissected beats to create a somber, glitch effect, which Abhishek calls his own uniqueness in composition.
"I had been working on these songs for the past one year and they were ideas or experiments that I wanted to try out. There wasn't a conscious sound that I had in mind, these songs just happened. The vibe of the tracks is almost eerie and I have tried to complement that with the music which is slightly melancholic," Abhishek told PTI in an interview.
