According to the family sources, the ashes are likely to be immersed in river Ganga at the local Budhaulia Ghat tomorrow.
Girl's elder sister, emotionally recalling victim's childhood days, sought proper amending of existing laws to ensure that such incidents do not get repeated.
"The law should be changed and the accused should be given such a punishment, which instills fear in the hearts of such elements," she said.
Victim's brother, talking to PTI, denied that the victim was created in a hush-hush manner, and said the wishes of the families were taken care of.
The girl was flown to Singapore in a bid to save her life, but her condition deteriorated there and she suffered multiple organ failure, he said.
The brother also made the same demand of changing the existing laws, and sought hanging of the accused.
According to victim's cousin, the girl's mother, who went unconscious after the cremation yesterday, is not taking food and is in a bad shape.
"She is in deep grief and is mentally tense," he said.
Meanwhile Shiv Mandir Singh, head of Mandwara Kalan village, said a condolence meeting was held in the village in the memory of the girl.
"We expected that her last rites would be performed at her native village but it seems that God wished otherwise," he said.
The gang-rape of the girl, who lost her battle for life in a Singapore hospital, has shaken the conscience of entire nation, with people from all walks of life taking to the streets across the country in protest against the incident.
