Delhi Anti-Corruption Branch Chief M K Meena today accused the AAP government of not transferring calls received on the 1031 anti-graft helpline to the agency for further action.
"If the complaints are not transferred then the helpline should be closed. Establish it in the anti-corruption branch instead and give the line directly to us," he told reporters.
People making calls to register complaints, thinking the ACB would be alerted, are being "misguided", he said.
Meena, whose appointment as the ACB chief by Lt Governor Najeeb Jung had become a major bone of contention between AAP and BJP-led Centre, claimed that he had told Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's advisor in a meeting to hand over the helpline's operations to ACB.
"...If you can't handle it, then give it directly to the ACB. We will handle it, but if 1031 is working or operative the calls should be given to us.
"People think that the calls would come to ACB, but they are misguided. Because of this many complaints on which action could be taken was not taken because the complaint has not been received," Meena said.
