"We have ordered for 100 ambulances, the tendering process for which is on. Within next six months Delhi government will provide the facility of door-to-hospital for the benefit of all patients. Till now facilities were only available for the accident, rape assault, acid attack victims and pregnant women," Health Minister Satyendra Jain said today.
All these 100 ambulances will have advanced technology, equipped with ICU facilities like oxygen supply and ventilator.
As of now, Delhi government has 150 ambulances out of which 26 are equipped with ICU facilities and the rest have basic amenities.
"All government hospitals will be computerized, with a trial run beginning at LNJP hospital from February 15. The aim is to maintain the records properly and to avoid duplication of work," he said.
He said the purchase of medicines in government hospitals will now be centralised for which tendering process has been completed.
"There have been complaints that medicines are not available in hospitals for which the purchase of medicines in government hospitals will now be centralised," he said,
Jain said that the Health department of Delhi government is also chalking out a patient safety programme and drawing up system of protocol under which trainings will be provided to the hospital staff to avoid any death due to negligence. The norms will be made on the basis of WHO norms, Jain said.
