The Delhi Health department today said it has received 561 no objection certificates for new sites to set-up Mohalla clinics, within a day of chief minister Arvind Kejriwal complaining about delay in getting NoCs for land procurement.
During the health department's review meeting yesterday, Kejriwal had complained about several departments sitting on issuing NoCs for new sites for the clinics.
In a statement, the health department today said it has received 561 NoCs within a day and the number of approvals shot up to 668 with the inclusion of new sites already approved by Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board(DUSIB).
"All government departments swung into action and started clearing the files related to NoCs immediately. By yesterday evening the Health Department received 296 NoCs from Delhi Jal Board and 265 from Education Department," the statement said.
It added that more departments were expected to follow suit soon.
The department also said that the chief minister has directed officials to issue approvals to the proposal which aims to open clinics in 200 gram sabhas of Delhi.
The files regarding new sites were lying unattended with the Delhi Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal for over a month and upon insistence from AAP MLAs in August last year, they were cleared, the statement said.
