Delhi Transport Commissioner Sanjay Kumar today did not turn up for questioning in connection with the probe into the proposed premium bus service scheme of AAP government, at the Anti Corruption Branch(ACB) office.
"A fresh notice has been issued to the Transport commissioner to join the probe tomorrow or further legal option will be availed," an official source said.
Special Commissioner and ACB chief MK Meena confirmed the development refusing to divulge further details.
The Anti Corruption Branch had launched probe into the premium bus service scheme notified by the Arvind Kejriwal government on a complaint of BJP MLA and Leader of House in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, on June 2.
A notice was also issued to the Transport Commissioner Sanjay Kumar to join the probe but he was unavailable for questioning.
The Delhi government had issued a notification on May 20 to roll out the premium bus service scheme from June 1 but the Lt governor red flagged the launch saying that his prior approval had not been obtained.
The notification, signed by Delhi Transport Commissioner Sanjay Kumar, had created an impression that it was issued following approval from the Lt Governor.
Gupta had alleged in his complaint that the scheme was "aimed" at benefiting a private company.
