Delhi witnesses cold wind, fog

Delhiites today witnessed cold wind conditions that led to a drop in the mercury to 6 degrees Celsius even as early morning fog resulted in cancellation of four north-bound trains while delay in schedule of 30 others.
Minimum temperature was recorded at 6 degrees Celsius, a notch below normal while the maximum was 20.8 degrees C, also a notch below the season's average at this time of the year, a Met Department official said.
Visibility was 600 metres at 5.30 AM at Safdarjung which dropped to 500 metres at 8.30 AM. Later, it significantly improved to 1,500 metres.
At Palam, visibility was zero at 5.30 AM, which three hours later improved to 100 metres, and further to 900 metres at 11.30 AM, the official said.

Early morning fog disrupted rail services with 30 north- bound trains running late and 22 being rescheduled and four others cancelled, according to a senior railway official.
The humidity oscillated between 100 and 49 per cent.

The MeT office has forecast partly cloudy skies for tomorrow with mist and shallow fog likely in the morning.
"Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 21 and 8 degrees Celsius respectively tomorrow," the weatherman said.
Yesterday, the maximum and minimum temperatures were recorded at 21.3 degrees Celsius and 6.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
