Owing to lack in availability of skilled data analysts in the country to cater to booming analytics segment, there will be a huge demand for such personnel in future, an official of SAS India today said.
"Data plays an important role in modern day and there is a huge gap of manpower in India and the need of analytics is growing among organisations across Indian industries," SAS India country head Noshin Kagalwalla told reporters here via telecon from Mumbai.
The applicability of data analytics was growing across all verticals like the banking, insurance, telecommunication, listed companies, as well as in the retail sector, he said.
Kagalwalla said SAS, which provide data analytics software, was getting into a collaboration with top institutes of the country to cut down on the gap, he said.
The demand for business analysts in the government sector was also on the rise, he said.
It has already launched programmes for PG students with globally-recognised certification to bridge the talents gaps and the shortage of manpower, Kagalwalla stated.
SAS India today entered in a tie-up with Calcutta Business School offering a course on data analytics.
