The incident occurred on Tuesday late night when the demolition squad of Vasai-Virar Municipal corporation had gone to Dhaniv Baugh in Ganesh Nagar to pull down an illegal construction, reportedly housing a branch of Shiv Sena, said assistant police inspector S N Solse, of Waliv police station.
Three persons allegedly tried to prevent the team from carrying out its duties and abused, threatened and attacked its members with stones, the police said.
An offence has been registered against the three persons under IPC sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 332, 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others), 504 and 506 (criminal intimidation) read with 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention), he said.
No arrest had been made so far in this connection, he added.
