Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy today said that the demonetisation exercise by the BJP led NDA government and GST have had an injurious impact on the economy and hit the common man hard.
"Demonetisation and GST have proved their injurious impact on the country's economy and common man has been hit hard by the two measures of the NDA", he said.
He alleged that the BJP has started suffering a big decline and faces the wrath of people across the country.
Narayanasamy, a member of the GST council, was addressing workers and leaders of the ruling Congress and also its alliance partners at the end of a procession organised by PCC to condemn demonetisation and GST.
He appealed to party workers and others to turn up in large numbers tomorrow for a demonstration to observe the first anniversary of demonetisation as 'black day.'
PCC leader and PWD Minister A Namassivayam said both demonetisation and GST are 'anti people' and imposed autocratically' on them.
Ministers, legislators of the ruling Congress, workers of various wings of the party, convenor of DMK (south wing) S P Sivakumar and leaders of fraternal parties of the Congress were among those who participated in the procession.
Countrywide protests in the form of processions, rallies and candle-light marches are being planned by the Congress and other Opposition parties to mark the first demonetisation anniversary tomorrow, as their leaders would observe it as "black day".
Congress has described the note ban decision as the "biggest scam" and "the largest government-abetted money laundering scheme" and asked all its state units to organise protests, processions and marches to mark the day.
