The correspondent Saravan of Tamil daily Dinamalar was allegedly assaulted by a person when he protested against a two wheeler rider hitting his scooter.
Saravanan said the man attacked him severely after he objected to his crossing the road on his two wheeler and hitting his vehicle. Saravanan suffered bleeding injuries on his right ear and was treated at the government hospital.
A team of functionaries of the PCC led by the party president A V Subramanian and AICC General Secretary V Narayanasamy also joined the mediapersons during the demonstration.
Senior Superintendent of Police V J Chandran told PTI that cases had been registered on the basis of Saravanan's complaint.
