Demonstrations lead to traffic snarls in Lucknow

Teachers and anganwadi workers today staged demonstrations here in support of their demands leading to traffic snarls even as police had to baton charge some protestors to disperse them.
While anganwadi workers staged a demonstration at Gandhi statue, members of Uttar Pradesh Karamchari Shikshak Samanvaya Samiti protested in front of Vidhan Bhawan demanding restoration of old pension system among other things.
The agitated workers clashed with police, after which it used force to disperse the mob.
Several organisations and political parties have condemned the police action against employees and teachers.
