The Jammu and Kashmir State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) has booked a dental surgeon here on charges of corruption and indulging in dubious activities, an official said today.
An SVO team conducted a probe after a complaint was filed by Chatroo Primary Health Centre Medical Officer Shafqat Javed, who alleged that he had paid Rs five lakh to the surgeon, Liyaqat Ali Khan, to resolve the issue of his suspension as medical officer, the official said.
Javed said Khan disappeared after taking the money.
The official said Javed's suspension was revoked as part of a routine process.
The official said a case has been registered against Khan, who is absconding.
