Disney Channel has decided to cancel the July 22 red carpet premiere for original movie "Descendants 3" following the sudden death of star Cameron Boyce.

The channel will instead make a donation to a charity Boyce supported, reported Variety.

"We're proud to be part of Cameron Boyce's legacy by showcasing his talents on screen but we are cancelling the red carpet premiere event for 'Descendants 3' and instead, The Walt Disney Company will make a donation to the Thirst Project, a philanthropic organisation to which Cameron was deeply committed.

"With permission from the Boyce family, Disney Channel will dedicate the telecast of 'Descendants 3' in Cameron Boyce's memory," said Disney Channel in a statement.

Boyce, 20, who died of a seizure as a result of epilepsy on July 6, played Carlos, the son of Cruella de Vil, starting with 2015's "Descendants" and reprised the role in the 2017 sequel.

Born in LA, Boyce made his acting debut at the age on nine with horror film "Mirrors". Two years later, he appeared in Adam Sandler-fronted "Grown Ups," as one of his children.

He became popular with his role on Disney Channel's "Jessie". Boyce also lent his voice to Jake in "Jake and the Never Land Pirates" series.
