Talking to a deputation of inhabitants of Bani led by former Deputy Speaker Ghulam Haider Malik here this afternoon, the Chief Minister said special schemes to uplift the rural and backward areas have started yielding positive results.
"Our priority is to upgrade communication, education and health cover in these areas to help generate economic activities and give fillip to education and health care facilities," he said, adding, the government would continue to give special attention to achieve the targeted goals of development in these areas.
The deputation demanded creation of three nayabats (section of block) one each at Lohi-Malhar, Machhedi and Bhatodi in Billawar tehsil.
It also emphasised the need for construction of road from Uj Bridge near Gudufalal to Sarla-Junana to benefit more than 15,000 persons of the area. It requested for funds for construction of road from Bhundha to Sadrota via Galli as a part of Khogh-Dugain road.
