Deviations found in the data on the audit of Sex Ratio at Birth (SRB) by 10 Haryana districts were not "statistically significant", a state government spokesman has said.
The audit was started by a 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign team in March 2016 to ensure truthful reporting of numbers by the districts.
The team validated the reported SRB data for the period of January 2015 to December 2015 of Hisar, Jind, Sirsa, Panipat and Jhajjar districts.
It also audited the SRB data submitted by Sonepat, Kaithal, Faridabad, Gurgaon and Narnaul districts of the period between January 2016 and February 2017.
The SRB data from Hisar, Jind, Sirsa and Panipat was audited in March 2016 and no significant deviation was observed in them, the spokesman said, referring to a media report.
The validation of the SRB data from Jhajjar district was done in September 2016. It was found there was almost no difference from the reported SRB, he said.
The SRB data from Sonepat, Kaithal, Faridabad, Narnaul and Gurgaon districts was validated in March 2017 and the deviations found were not "statistically significant", he said.
"Not much difference was observed in the statistics of the reported SRB of all the 10 districts in the audit," the spokesman said, adding the validation of SRB data of only 10 districts has been done among the 22 districts in the state.
He said about 450 FIRs were registered under Pre-Natal Diagnostic Test (PNDT) ACT and Medical Termination of Pregnancy (MTP) Act during the last two years and about 12 convictions based on raids were made in Haryana.
