Rashmi has produced popular daily soaps like "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya", "Sasural Simar Ka", "Swaragini" and "Shakti - Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki". She has made her debut as a film producer with the multi-starrer project.
The courtroom drama revolves the story of three girls (Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang) who are molested by a man, but are instead charged of assaulting the molester.
"I strongly relate to the subject of the film and the message it wants to give to the audiences. I want every youth, every parent to watch this film because this is a subject that is apt for the current scenario of the society. It stands as an answers to the situations we are in," Rashmi told PTI.
For Rashmi, the transition from producing television shows to films was creative.
"All the renowned names associated with the film have put in their efforts to make a good film and impact the audience and the society."
Rashmi said she is open to produce films of various genres provided the subject is strong as that is what attracts her, while continuing to make television shows.
Directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury, "Pink" opened in theatres yesterday to a positive response.
