The technology is important for creating successful businesses as today customer loyalty is diminishing and people are all about price-discovery, CII-Deloitte Innovation and Knowledge Management Survey said.
"The new consumer seeks transparency and excellent experience. Consumer voice is amplified because of rising consumerism and the various channels of communication," it said.
Organisations will have to plan for positions like data scientists for achieving business goals based on predictive analytics, it said.
The study found that techno-functional skills and talents required in driving business value, and ensuring alignments of specific technology projects with broader business goals was seen as major challenges by the respondents.
