Digvijay warns of action against truant Cong committee members

Members of block-, district- or state-level committees of the party may get the boot if they frequently remain absent for the meetings, Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh warned the office-bearers here today.
Those remaining absent for three consecutive meetings will face the action, Singh said.
He also announced that as in the case of National Students Union of India (NSUI) and State Youth Congress, the Pradesh Congress Committee too will have an election to select its members after the Lok Sabha polls.
He appealed the office bearers of state unit to conduct meetings of local committees once a month.
He also announced that state Congress Committee can elect District Congress Committees, and those in turn can elect Block level committees; the AICC need not be approached for this purpose.
