Traffic snarls were witnessed along a stretch of the road which runs along the Mandovi river here this morning as it was closed for the shooting of the film "Dilwale", directed by Rohit Shetty.
Police, however, said the traffic was diverted and no inconvenience was caused to the public.
Shetty is shooting the film here with the actor Varun Dhawan.
The road was closed for traffic from 6 to 8 in the morning, causing vehicles to back up at both the ends.
"We had permitted them to shoot till 8 am. They finished in time. We had diverted the traffic for some time," deputy superintendent of police (traffic) Dharmesh Angle told PTI.
Entertainment Society of Goa, a state-run agency, has given permission for the shoot. The film will be shot at locations across Panaji and Old Goa, ESG CEO Rajan Satardekar said.
The film also stars Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon and is expected to be released around the Christmas this year.
