Police, however, said the traffic was diverted and no inconvenience was caused to the public.
Shetty is shooting the film here with the actor Varun Dhawan.
The road was closed for traffic from 6 to 8 in the morning, causing vehicles to back up at both the ends.
"We had permitted them to shoot till 8 am. They finished in time. We had diverted the traffic for some time," deputy superintendent of police (traffic) Dharmesh Angle told PTI.
The film also stars Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Kriti Sanon and is expected to be released around the Christmas this year.
