Direct sellers seek exemption on commission under GST

Direct selling agents have asked the government to remove 18 per cent GST on the commission paid to them by companies and their distributors.
The imposition of 18 per cent GST on commissions paid to direct selling distributors would impact the direct selling industry.
Moreover, the government has exempted the LIC agents from GST and have sought similar status, said a joint statement from Federation of Direct Selling Association (FDSA) and Direct Selling Distributors Welfare Association (DSDWA).
