The debt burden of three power distribution companies has witnessed a significant fall in the last two years and is expected to come down to Rs 9,500 crore by the end of this fiscal, a total dip of Rs 6,000 crore since 2013-14, Rajasthan Minister of State for Power Pushpendra Singh said today.
The debt burden of three power distribution companies was about Rs 15,645 crore in 2013-14 and it came down to Rs 12,473 crore in 2014-15. The total debt is likely to stand at around Rs 9,500 crore by the end of this fiscal year, the Minister said here.
Due to increase in power generation and production with own resources and lesser buy of power from other states, Rajasthan's power scenario was changing fast, he said while speaking on the occasion of the completion of two years of the Vasundhara Raje government.
