Discussion on finance, budget management in IAF held

Official says fiscal prudence should be the mantra and the aim was to seek value for money, without compromising on quality

Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Maintenance Command, IAF, Air Marshal Pankaj Aneja on Friday emphasised on the need to innovate and find ways to face the challenges in the fields of finance and budgeting in the Indian Air Force.

He inaugurated a senior accountant officers' conference here at the Headquarters Maintenance Command (HQMC) of the IAF where financial practises and budget management in IAF were discussed, a release from defence PRO said.

He said fiscal prudence should be the mantra and the aim was to seek value for money, without compromising on quality.

Aneja also urged the senior accountant officers' to familiarise themselves with computerisation and e-services.

Representatives from air headquarters, New Delhi, Integrated Financial Advisor and Additional Controller of Defence Accounts from Maintenance Command attended the conference.

On the occasion, Air Vice Marshal SC Chafekar, Senior Air and Administrative Staff Officer (SASO), Maintenance Command, IAF, in his concluding address, urged the participants to ensure that IAF's accounting practises were in sync with its aspirations to pivot the nation into the exclusive club of military superpowers.
