Discussion on land for NIRDESH held

A meeting chaired by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy today discussed in detail the matters pertaining to the land identified by the government near Chaliyam in Kozhikode District for the activities related to National Institute for Research and Development in Defence Shipbuilding (NIRDESH).
It has been decided to convene a special meeting to be attended by people's representatives to consider the problems of people living in that area.
Practical steps should be initiated taking into consideration the needs of people following which a rehabilitation package would be worked out.
Speaking at the meeting, Chandy said a meeting would be held to discuss the rehabilitation package.
State Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty, Officials from NIRDESH, MPs and MLAs representating that area would attend the meeting, an official release said here.
