It is quite natural that the Government of India has announced the Bharat Ratna for you in recognition of your unmatched records."
Recalling Tendulkar's brilliant and memorable track record which "the Indian nation can be proud of forever," the 90-year-old DMK patriarch said, "You have set grand standards. You will be inspiring generations to come. You have crowned Indian cricket by your unbeatable and unforgettable achievements."
