The incident took place on Tuesday when the woman, a Samajwadi Party activist, had gone to the clinic of heart specialist Dr Taj Mohammad.
A complaint under IPC sections 376 (punishment for rape), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and provisions of the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act was registered against the doctor yesterday, a police officer said.
Opposition BSP and RLD demanded an impartial investigation in the case.
The Indian Medical Association appealed to the Superintendent of Police to probe the matter impartially.
