TMC nominated Sen to the seat on March 4 after party supremo Mamata Banerjee approved the screening committee's proposal in this regard.
Sen had last year lost the Asansol Lok Sabha seat to Union minister Babul Supriyo by a margin of over 70,000 votes. Since then she has been concentrating on her organisational role as a trade union leader.
State Education Minister Partha Chatterjee and TMC general secretary Subrata Bakshi were present in the state Assembly premises when Sen filed her nomination.
The election has been necessitated by the resignation of Bose on February 5 in the aftermath of the Saradha chit fund scam.
According to the Election Commission schedule, the voting will take place on March 20 and the results will be declared the same day.
As per the poll schedule announced by the Election Commission, nominations would be filed between March 3 and 10, scrutiny would be done on the next day and withdrawals be made by March 13.
Given TMC's three-fourth majority in the state assembly, Sen is expected to sail through in the election.
Sen was on March 4 made the national INTTUC chief. She had been removed as the state president of the Trinamool trade union in November.
