Public broadcaster Doordarshan has planned an extensive coverage of the Republic Day parade tomorrow, capturing the glorious view beyond the India Gate by deploying more cameras this year.
"This will be a truly spectacular parade with leaders of 10 ASEAN nations attending the event. We will make every effort to give a visual treat to our viewers," Prasar Bharati Chairman A Surya Prakash said.
Prasar Bharati runs Doordarshan and All India Radio.
Last year, there were 27 cameras deployed for the coverage of the Republic Day function.
"This year, we have 38 cameras installed for the coverage. For the first time, six cameras have been deployed for coverage beyond India Gate. It will offer a panoramic view," Prakash said.
Besides using robotic cameras which will capture the reactions of people present to watch the parade, a 120-ft high crane will be stationed behind India Gate to give the viewers "fantastic visuals", he added.
"A lot of effort has gone in by our team. I reviewed the full dress rehearsal shoot. It is a very colourful parade and our team goes the extra mile to make it even more appealing visually," Prakash said.
As many as 15 cameras with outside broadcasting (OB) van will be stationed at Rajpath, three robotic cameras on President rostrum, eight cameras with OB van at India gate, six cameras with OB van at Rashtrapati Bhavan and six en route camera from Patiala House to Red Fort.
An en route camera will be placed each at Patiala House, Supreme Court, ITO, Daryaganj, Delhi Gate and Red Fort.
