DoP launches same-day express parcel service in J&K

The Department of Posts (DoP) today launched mechanised "same-day delivery" of express parcels in the city.
J&K Circle has introduced mechanised same-day delivery of Express Parcels in Jammu, Member (Operations) Postal Services Board, New Delhi, John Samuel told reporters here soon after the launch of Parcel Service here today.
Samuel said that the mechanised same-day delivery of Express Parcels is a customer friendly service of the Department to make delivery of parcels faster and more convenient enabling real time (online) tracking of parcels.
"Express Parcel Service would be available both for retail and bulk customers while Business Parcel would only be available for bulk customers", said Samuel adding that under the service the parcels will be transmitted through the fastest means available.

Chief Postmaster General, J&K Circle Chandra Prakash in his address expressed confidence that the latest initiative by the department will prove a boon for business firms associated with tourism industry as they dispatch large number of handicrafts, blankets etc to various places in other states.
"Same Day Delivery of Express Parcels through motor vehicles has been made available at Express Parcel Hub, Jammu RMS and later service will be extended to other places also", he said.
