Dr Kumar appointed as VC of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University

: Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit Monday appointed Dr N Kumar as Vice Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, the Raj Bhavan said.

Purohit, also the Chancellor of the Coimbatore-based varsity, has appointed Kumar for a three year period with effect from the date of his assumption of office, a release from the Raj Bhavan said.

Kumar, Dean of Faculty of Horticulture in the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, has been a Professor for 22 years and has authored eight books, it said.

He has 18 research papers to his credit and has been the editor of the journal "The International Society for Horticultural Sciences," it added.
