Drug Policy to be implemented in J&K after March 2013: Govt

"The Drug Policy which has already been made public by the government will be fully implemented after March 31 next year," he said.

He also said the Drug Procurement Corporation which is in the pipeline will start functioning simultaneously.

Sharma said all District Hospitals will have the facilities of CT Scan machines and Critical Ambulances in a phased manner. "Some important hospitals have already been provided the CT Scan machines," the minister said.

On the posting of migrant doctors and para-medics who are presently out of the state, he said the Government has already decided to utilise the services of all migrant staff to overcome the deficiency of staff.

"The deadline for their joining has been extended to April 30," he said.

Sharma told reporters that the state has secured the topmost award in the health sector in the country due to the collective efforts of employees and active support of the civil society.

Highlighting the achievements of the Health Department, he said during the past three years there is substantial increase in various health parameters which are self-speaking.

"There is 53 per cent increase in the OPD, 85 in IPD, 30 in institutional deliveries, 116 in Ultra Sound and 211 per cent increase in revenue receipt," he said.
