Drunk father attacks his son with knife

An 11-year-old boy was severely injured after his father allegedly attacked him with a knife when he tried to rescue his mother who was being beaten by the man in an inebriated state, police said today.
The incident took place last night at New Ashok Nagar area following which a case of attempt to murder and other relevant sections of IPC was registered against the accused father, said DCP (East) B S Gurjar.
The father, who is a labourer by profession, was arrested immediately and the child was rushed to a hospital, he said.
According to he police, the accused came home drunk and allegedly started thrashing his wife. When the boy came to his mother's rescue, the accused started thrashing him too.

At one point, when the boy retaliated, the accused fetched a knife from the kitchen and attacked the 11-year-old, he said.
