Drunk men attack policemen in Park Street

Two drunk men attacked and injured two policemen when they were asked to behave in the city's posh Park Street area, the police said today.
The incident occurred late last night when Sub-Inspector Sanjay Singh and Assistant Sub-Inspector K K Dolui were attacked by the two drunk persons outside a bar.
The two persons, Gobinda Gopal Bhattacharya and Arindam Kundu, were arguing at the top of their voice with employees of the bar.
During a vigil on the road, the two plain-clothed policemen reached at the spot and asked the two to behave, police said.
However, the two attacked the policemen causing injury to them.

Bhattacharya and Kundu were later arrested.
The miscreants were today produced before a city court which remanded them to jail custody till February 6.
Policemen have been attacked quite often in the city and districts in recent times.
