Employees at the southwest Houston coffee shop banned Larry McHale three months ago for harassing behaviour, but he came back Tuesday with a drunken vengeance, according to KHOU -TV.
It is alleged the 46-year-old smashed a bottle on the ground, only to then pick up the young pup and chuck her at the shop's window as shocked customers and staff watched.
McHale was arrested outside the Starbucks after employees called police.
Police are not even sure if the dog even belongs to him.
The dog, now named Starbucks, is recovering, media reports said.
The animal shelter is raising funds to take care of the dog and her broken leg before she is adopted.
The pup also sustained head injuries and was bleeding from the ears after the attack, the TV station reported.
McHale has been jailed in Harris County Jail on animal cruelty charges, the report said.
