Additional Director General of Police (CID) Anil Kumar Jha said Anjan Bora, posted as an Assistant Commandant of the 23rd Assam Police Battalion, was arrested and produced before a court, which granted him bail.
Bora had make objectionable comments on his Facebook page alleging that the BJP woman MLA was engaged in sex trade inside her office chamber in the Secretariat complex.
He pinpointed at the MLA by taking her surname. BJP has only two women MLAs in the Assam Assembly.
Bora is known for posting such controversial statements on social media. The officer had posted controversial comments on Facebook a few years ago, leading to his suspension for a brief period.
