The world famous Dudhwa Tiger Reserve (DTR) would open to the tourists and visitors from tomorrow.
"Amid a brief ceremony, the DTR comprising Dudhwa National Park, Kishanpur Wildlife Sanctuary and Katarniaghat Wildlife Sanctuary will be opened for general visitors and tourists across the world at 6.30 AM tomorrow," DTR Deputy Director V K Singh said.
"On the opening day, the tourists visiting DTR in the first half will be given free entry to the park," he added.
The tourist season in DTR starts from November 15 every year and culminates on April 14 evening.
"Fourteen gypsies and two canter cabs have been arranged to carry the tourists inside the park as entry of private vehicles has been restricted from this year to ensure jungle discipline and to keep the wild animals at ease," he added.
He also said that every tourist party would be accompanied by a guide, who would apprise the visitors about the park in detail.
The guides have been imparted intensive training so as to ensure that tourists are kept amused and well entertained, he said, adding that a total of 30 guides, who are mostly from neighbouring tribal villages, have been so far appointed and trained.
For the first time in the history of Dudhwa, the DTR authorities have deputed women guides for the tourist parties.
"Women from tribal families in and around DTR are well acquainted with the surroundings as well as nature of the wild animals and the tourists will enjoy the Dudhwa park with the detailed interpretation by these women guides," he said.
Dudhwa Tiger Reserve with its enriched flora and fauna houses nearly 120 tigers, largest number of swamp deer, 423 species of birds, aquatic species, wild elephants and 32 rhinos.
