"We have heard that the company has started distribution of salaries to workers at Bagrakot tea garden from this morning... But, we are not concerned with it because that has nothing to do with our investigation," a top CID officer told PTI.
The company was scheduled to distribute the outstanding payments from today, he said adding, the arrears would be distributed later on.
Incidentally, Duncan Industries' Wholetime Director M H Chinoy had met CID sleuths yesterday as the investigating agency initiated a probe into the alleged non-payment of wages to workers at the company's Bagrakot tea garden.
Meanwhile, Srivardhan Goenka has stepped down as the Director of Duncans Industries Limited.
