Earthquake of 'slight' intensity rocks Assam

The quake was reported on a Richter Scale of 4.3, and rocked Assam around 4 pm

An earthquake of 4.3 magnitude in the Richter scale today rocked Assam at around 4.04 pm.

The Met office here said that the tremor was of "slight" intensity.

The epicentre of the quake was located at latitude 26.5 degree North and longitude 92.3 degree East in the region of Darrang in Assam. The tremor occurred at a depth of 10 km, the MET office added.

No report of injury or damage to property has been reported so far, a police officer said.
