The Election Commission has issued a show cause notice to the Director of Land Management (West Zone) in Delhi Development Authority for alleged violation of election's model code of conduct for shifting of residents from Kathputli Colony in Rajinder Nagar.
"If the shifting was initiated following court's order, why the Election Commission's order was not brought to the notice of the court before its passing the order and why the final direction of the court order was not brought to the notice of the Election Commission," the show cause notice issued by New Delhi District Election Officer Ameya Abhiyankar said.
The notice was issued following a complaint from BJP MLA R P Singh to the Delhi's chief electoral office alleging DDA, in connivance with sitting MP Ajay Maken from New Delhi, is shifting residents of Kathputli colony.
