The week-long celebration began yesterday with a vibrant dance and music performance by Edinburgh's 'Bhangra' crew and a 'qawwali' group led by singer Farooq Khan.

The event features an photo exhibition by Hermann Rodrigues, a leading documentary and travel photographer whose work depicts the integration of Asian ethnic groups who have migrated to Scotland.
The event has been organised by the Centre for South Asian studies, the South-Asian students association and the University's International office.
