"On one hand the government is rehabilitating the surrendered militants in Kashmir and on the other the educated and unemployed youth of Jammu, who earn their livelihood by selling stuff on Rehris (hand pushed wheel carts) are being pushed to the wall by the government",President of the Dogra front and Shiv Sena, Ashok Gupta said.
He said livelihood of thousands of hawkers who used to earn it by selling items on the roadsides was snatched after the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) ordered them to remove their stalls.
In order to decongest the streets and roads of Jammu city, the JMC has created "Rehri zones" where people don't even visit.
"These Rehri Zones are in a place where people don't go, thus these hawkers have been pushed to a place where they have gone out of business," he said.
