Efforts on to develop Reasi as religious tourist destination

In view of high turnout of devotees at Shiv Khori cave shrine this year, authorities are planning measures to attract pilgrims visiting Vaishno Devi to other religious locations in Reasi district.
A record number of 14.79 lakh pilgrims visited Shiv Khori cave shrine in 2013.
"The authorities are geared up to provide every possible facility to devotees to attract pilgrims of Vaishno Devi towards other places of pilgrimages in Reasi district", officials said.
Earlier, devotees visited the Shiv Khori during Maha Shivratri, but now shrine was witnessing heavy rush also Amarnath Yatra period, they said.
Reasi is emerging as an important tourist destination, officials said.

At present, 5000 to 6000 devotees are visiting the cave shrine daily to pay obeisance and their number was increasing, Vice Chairman Shri Shiv Khori Shrine Board, Rajinder Singh Tara said.
