Massom Ali Betaab, who sold talismans (taaveez) to people to help solve their day-to-day problems, was using this stream as a guise to supply drugs to his customers, police said.
Acting on a tip-off, police accompanied by Naib Tehsildar of Jammu raided Massom's residence in Sidhra area yesterday.
During the raid, police seized 78 neurogesic injections, 42 lori injections, 68 diazepam injections, 56 bottles of corex and 30 nitrogen drug, they said.
Massom, his sons Mohammed Alam, Mohammed Abbas and Munir Hussain, and four others -- Naseeb Ali, Zulfikar Ali, Saudagar Ali and Anush Sharma -- were arrested from the spot.
Meanwhile, policemen were stopped at the house and attacked by some persons during the raid.
A separate case has been registered in this regard, according to police.
