Elderly couple dead as car hits stationary truck

An elderly couple died on the spot and two others were injured when the car they were travelling in hit a stationary truck from behind on NH-16 near Regupalem under Elamanchili police station limits in the district today.
The deceased were identified as A D Murthy (65) and his wife A Anasuya.
Murthy's son A Satya Sai Srinivas and his grandson A Anil were injured in the accident.
The family hailed from Kakinada.
Inspector K Venkata Rao of Elamanchili police station said the victims were heading for Gajuwaka in Vizag to attend a marriage reception. Srinivas, who was driving, lost control and hit the truck parked on the roadside.
