Announcing the schedule, the Election Commission said the necessary notification for filling up the vacancies, one each from Kashmir and Jammu, will be issued on November 9 and the last date for filing of nominations will be November 16.
After scrutiny of nominations on November 17, the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is November 19 and the polling, if necessary, will be held between 9 AM to 5 PM on December 3. The counting will take place from 8 AM on December 6.
The Commission has decided to use EVMs in all the polling stations and the Model Code of Conduct as made applicable to these elections shall come into force with immediate effect in the state.
