Electricity dept team beaten up by villagers

A team of the electricity department officials was allegedly beaten up and kept in confinement by villagers of Naglaganga over the issue of repair of a tubewell, police said here today.
The team had visited the village to repair a tubewell. After finding fault with the cable of the tubewell, the team took it with them. Angered by this, some villagers chased the team and started thrashing them, police said.
They later kept the team in a room and thrashed them. Several members of the team suffered injuries as well, police said.
After being released, the officials went to the police and an FIR was lodged against Pankanj, his brother and their associates for assault and wrongful confinement, police said.
