Elephant tramples 65-yr-old man to death

An elephant today trampled a 65- year-old man to death at a village near Mettupalayam in the district here.
According to police, Palani of Manarmalai village had gone to fetch water from a river when an elephant appeared from behind and trampled on him, killing him instantly.
