Elvis Presley songwriter Roy C Bennett dies

Noted songwriter Roy C Bennett, who penned hits for Elvis Presley and Frank Sinatra, has died. He was 97.
With his partner Sid Tepper, Bennett published over 300 songs, including over 40 for Presley, reported Variety.
They also wrote tunes that were recorded by The Beatles, Carl Perkins, Perry Como and Eartha Kitt.
Their hits included "Red Roses for a Blue Lady", Dean Martin staple "Naughty Lady of Shady Lane" and most of Presley's "Blue Hawaii" soundtrack.
Bennett's partnership with Tepper in the 1970s after the latter suffered a heart attack and retired to Florida, but Bennett went on to publish the popular Choral Singer's Handbook.
Tepper died in April at the age of 96.
