Former minister Shivajirao Moghe's PA has come under the scanner of ACB which has already booked three high-ranking officials of private firms and unidentified employees of state government in connection with the alleged misappropriation of funds to the tune of Rs 24.28 crore.
"We are investigating the role of Prashant Allyadwar, who is former PA of Shivajirao Moghe, ex-minister for Social Justice and Special Assistance Department," said Director General of Police (ACB) Pravin Dixit.
The ACB had yesterday booked Birla Shlok Education Ltd's Regional Head Ravindra Indulkar, Zenith Software Ltd's Vice President Guruprasad Krishnamurthy, Core Education and Technology's Vice President Raju Pandey and unnamed government officials under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 120(B) (criminal conspiracy) and 34 (acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The alleged siphoning off funds took place between July 2012 and November 2014, the ACB said, adding that no arrests have been made in the case yet.
As per ACB, the private companies had been awarded contracts in 2012 for imparting computer education, banking and personality development trainings to students of Secondary School Certificate (SSC or class X) and Higher Secondary Examination (HSC or class XII) staying in government-run hostels across the state.
The contracts were awarded as per a Government Resolution (GR) passed in July 2012 by the Social Justice and Special Assistance department, the ACB said.
Core Education and Technology had been assigned to train students in Mumbai and Nagpur; Zenith Software Ltd was contracted to train students at Pune and Amaravati while Birla Shlok Education Ltd had been assigned to educate students at Nashik, Aurangabad and Latur.
However, the companies allegedly did not honour the contract as per terms and conditions despite funds being sanctioned, the ACB said.
In addition to this, Zenith Software Ltd went against the rules and had outsourced the job to an IT company floated by Allyadwar, who was in the government service till a few months ago, the anti-corruption agency claimed.
